Cake+cupcakes: The Very Hungry Caterpillar

This delicious dessert was for my adorable god child's birthday. I got the idea from this reference. It took about four hours total to bake and decorate (no fondant, all homemade buttercream). I had fun mixing all the icing colors. I used melted chocolate for the eyes, nose, and leaves and then shaped pipe cleaners for the antennae and feet. The best part was eating it of course!
