This is my first time making buttercream roses with Wilton's decorating tips! I wanted red roses but the frosting wouldn't get darker, lol. I'm terrible at calligraphy too. I think the leaves look great though.

I had no idea what to put on this chocolate cake for a community gathering so I wrote "السلام عليك" which means "Peace Be Upon You" in Arabic. It's a greeting that Muslims exchange when they first see each other... kind of like "hello!" To learn more about Islam, visit WhyIslam's site.

Everyone was like "Have a PEACE of cake!" ;P

Haha, I'm practicing with it in my free time when I'm not baking and all... improvement ftw! :w00t: As for knowing Arabic, it's a difficult language... I wish I knew other languages too!

Thanks so much, Jessi! :thanks: I was scared they wouldn't turn out right, and the buttercream made me so frustrated at one point that I wanted to give up. I'm glad I kept going though, hehe.
