I am a true Zelda geek, lol! This is my first attempt with fondant after I promised everyone that I would give it a try. Thanks to ALL the help from my friends ~kaibyaku and his girlfriend (you guys rock!), this amazing cake came to be!

It was ~Yaaseen-Islam's birthday, and I decided to surprise him with this less complicated version of Link's Hylian Shield from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Fondant is harder to work with than it seems-- we had some frustrations, but in the end after three hours of hard work, all turned out well.

The videos on youtube said it would be much easier to work with fondant-- but for me, it was difficult. I know when I try something even more complicated, I am going to have to change a few things.
